We turn on our own players quicker than any other club.

Re: Cresswell
Too many unrealistic fans at every club now who want everything and don’t see things rationally any more.

Cresswell had his best season in a long time for us last season and more than played his part in us qualifying for Europe. That achievement alone for us can’t be underestimated.

Vlasic clearly has the traits to be a great player and will just need time to settle. Like Fornals. People need to chill.

If you expect every single player to be absolutely brilliant all the time, you’re following the wrong team.

Re: Cresswell
1 loss in 15 games, just won in europe, put up a display against a team we usually play shocking against and people want to slag off Soucek, Vlasic(albeit no one on here has, saw a lot on twitter yesterday) and now Cresswell.

Re: Cresswell
Was excellent last season if I recall correctly as a third CB and had free reign to go forward at times and got most of his assists that way..

Re: Cresswell
I think Cresswell was in the top 5 defenders last season for stats... that's clean sheets, assists and goals.. .. I should know I had him in my works FFL team and absolutely pissed it... his STATS from bog standard left back are way higher than Arthur from his luxury of Wing Back... the bloke creates Fuck All ... well apart from panic when he tries to defend... No comparison between the two players

but hey we just lost our first game of the season to a wonder goal and a shit decision by the manager so lets give our left back a good shoeing.... Ha ha ha... gotta love this place

"Basically he's saying he's a wing back or winger. He is not a left back and doesn't see himself as a left back."

But Vexed has copied and pasted from wikipedia that he is one?

Who to believe? Arthur or Vexed and wikipedia? Toughy.

8 assists last season,

well shit

Re: Cresswell
Yet to hear a valid argument from you block. You're right and I'm wrong but you don't have an argument to back that? Here's another stat for you - 3 successfull crosses from 26. Decent eh?

zico 12:15 Mon Sep 20
Re: Cresswell
Arthur can't defend as a left back but he is decent as a wing back with a back three. Cresswell made a stunning block a couple of games back when it was a certain goal but fans seem to focus on the negatives. Swa on You Tube last night a fan slagging Fabianski off saying he always stays on his line and can't kick. Some truth to that but the fan failed to mention the several good saves he made.

If every player Ronaldo has got away from and scored is shit, then there's an awful lot of shit players hanging around the elite clubs of Europe.

Shut down WHO and go away and have a long hard look at yourself.

Absolutely embarrassing.

Re: Cresswell
I dont think Arthur has much of a brain but if its one game in 10 or against a shitter in a cup or the Europa is Arthur good enough ..... yes

With Johnson and Fredricks in the squad im not surprised other positions were targeted over LB in the window. We will need to shift a few before we can strengthen

Re: Cresswell
Agent and how much money were they given to replace him? It's not a coincidence that under Sullivan we've spent about 15m on fullbacks.

That is the craziest shit I have ever read in my life.

Fuck me I must of been watching a different game if Cresswell was the biggest defensive liability in West Ham's history.... fuck me we have some proper wet blankets on here....

Re: Cresswell
Arthur is more than adequate cover at left back.

He isn't and never has been. I'd rather Johnson who as I'm sure you all know I'm not the biggest fan of.

Arthur is fucked due to his dodgy knee, let alone his suicidal defending.

Re: Cresswell
Wow, wondered who would be the next 'hate' figure for negative fans.
Cresswell was great last year coming off the back of some poorer ones after injuries. He is getting on in age but his delivery from the left is important to us.

Unless you can find the next left sided Trent Alexander Arnold for a jar of vasaline and some crumpled copies of Playbirds then we should at least respect the players we have who are contributing to the recent success.

Every player is going to have bad games. Every player is going to have injuries, niggles or fatigue. I don't understand why people are so quick to dig out players and moan.
I'm sure there will be some on Vlasics back when he needs some time to settle in.

That said we do need a left back longer term as Cresswell isn't getting any younger. Arthur is not a left back as his defensive awareness is pretty weak and he has ongoing fitness issues. Johnson is decent cover. Not a natural left back, not going to bomb forward much but can tackle and do simple things.
I like Henry at Brentford. Decent going forward, strong and gets up and down.

'Did I say something wrong?'

Yes

'Every single manager we've faced in the last few years has targeted him as a weakness.'

Every single manager we've had in the past eight years has recognised his worth, picked him automatically and never sought to replace or upgrade him.
